About
Afnan Fatani is a full professor of linguistics in the department of European Languages & Literature, King-abdul-aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she teaches phonetics, phonology, semantics, discourse analysis and language & computers. She received her PhD from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., and is an editor on King Abdul-aziz University Journal of Arts & Humanities. Dr Fatani has published a wide collection of papers in both national and international journals, and presented papers in numerous international conferences and forums including the UNESCO regional forum for higher education. She is a founding member of the MA program in translation and interpretation at King Abdul-aziz University. Her research interests include phonetics & phonology, translation technology, Arabic linguistics, stylistics, and the language of the Quran.
